Product Details
- WT’s ductwork insulation board, Mat-Faced Micro-Aire Duct Board, is perfect for making rectangular ducts used in heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems for new commercial or residential buildings, or for upgrading older sheet metal systems.
- This board is made from strong glass fibers, held together with a thermosetting resin. The side facing the airstream has a fiber glass mat, suitable for air velocities up to 5,000 fpm (25.4 m/sec).
- The other side has a fire-resistant Foil-Scrim-Kraft facing that runs the full width of the male edge, acting as a built-in closure flap for section joints.
- WT’s Mat-Faced Micro-Aire Duct Board is designed with double-density, male/female edges for a secure connection.
Features
- WT’s ductwork insulation board has a low thermal conductivity of 0.23 at a mean temperature of 75°F (24°C).
- It offers a low installed cost for an insulated duct system.
- The board provides excellent acoustical characteristics.
- It has a non-woven all-glass mat facing on the airstream surface.
- The insulation thickness is assured, with shiplap joints and an FSK vapor retarder.
- If needed, the board can be cleaned following NAIMA’s “Cleaning Fibrous Glass Insulated Air Duct Systems Recommended Practices.”
- WT’s Air Duct Board systems meet the fire and smoke safety regulations of most federal, state, and local building codes.
