Aluminum Foil Laminated Fabric
WT offers aluminum foil laminated fabrics with thicknesses ranging from 0.005″ to 0.08″ (with a weight range of 2.2 oz/yd² to 33 oz/yd²), designed to serve as a thermal radiation barrier, providing protection for personnel and equipment in high-radiation heat environments.
WT’s aluminum foil laminated fabric utilizes a lamination process, where an aluminum-coated film is bonded to one or both sides of a base fabric to enhance its thermal reflectivity and heat resistance. In the laminated structure, the aluminum-coated film can withstand temperatures up to 487°F (253°C), but the high-temperature adhesive used can only endure temperatures up to 350°F (175°C). Therefore, WT recommends using the aluminum foil fabric as an insulating layer in components or static applications.
WT offers custom services and industry solutions for aluminum foil laminated fabrics, which can be applied in casting curtains, expansion joints, mechanical insulation covers, and other applications.

The difference between Aluminum Foil Laminated Fabric and Aluminized Fabric
Aluminum Foil Laminated Fabric
Aluminum foil laminated fabric combines aluminum foil with a base fabric through a lamination process, offering excellent thermal reflection, insulation, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and waterproof properties. This makes it widely used in high-temperature protective clothing, building insulation materials, and transportation equipment. It effectively reduces heat conduction, reflects ultraviolet radiation, and protects equipment from thermal damage.
Aluminized Fabric
Aluminized fabric is created by spraying aluminum powder onto the fabric, giving it high thermal reflectivity, UV protection, lightweight properties, and high-temperature resistance. It is widely used in protective clothing, thermal insulation materials for vehicles, and energy-saving applications in construction. It provides an outstanding thermal radiation barrier and is suitable for use in high-temperature and high-light environments.
Structure and Features
WT’s aluminum foil fiberglass fabric exhibit outstanding performance in extreme thermal conditions. Engineered to withstand continuous temperatures up to 2912°F (1600°C), aluminum foil fiberglass fabric provides superior thermal protection. aluminum foil fiberglass fabric is important to note that while the composite material can endure such high temperatures overall, the aluminum foil surface is specifically designed to resist temperatures up to 300°F (150°C). Exceeding this threshold on the foil side may compromise the material’s integrity and performance. Conversely, the fiberglass side of the composite maintains its structural stability and insulation properties up to a temperature of 1022℉ (550°C), ensuring reliable and consistent performance against radiant heat, including molten metal splashes, within aluminum fabric’s operational temperature range.
Aluminum foil fiberglass fabric are extensively used in heat resistant metal casting, industrial safety apparel for the glass industry, protective clothing, and heat shields for high heat applications such as molding and industrial firefighting operations. These fabrics are designed to offer protection against molten metal splashes, radiant heat, and convective heat, making them ideal for proximity suits and other protective gear that must withstand high temperatures.
Aluminum foil fiberglass fabric comply with international standards such as ISO 9151 for heat shielding, ISO 15025 for limited flame spreading, and ISO 6942 for heat resistance, ensuring they meet rigorous safety requirements for use in high heat environments.
WT’s heat resistant aluminum fabric division specializes in the expert fusion of high-performance fabrics with aluminum foil to create advanced composite materials tailored for thermal insulation and heat reflective applications.
WT provides selections of base fabrics such as glass fiber, aramid, high silica, carbon fiber, and ceramic fiber to meet diverse industry needs.
